International Goslarer Piano Festival

The Goslar Piano Festival occupy an outstanding place among the masterclasses for pianists. Participants from different continents meet regularly at this international festival. At the center of the Piano Festival is the differentiated work with the internationally renowned lecturers of the master class. Prof. Rudolf Meister is president of the Musikhochschule Mannheim, his wife Ok-Hi Lee also works there.

Each participant receives at least four lessons from Prof. Rudolf Meister, the course is characterized by unusually intensive pianistic work. Solo concerts by the teachers as well as the participants are a natural part of the festival. The highlight of each year is the final orchestral concert with the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Theater für Niedersachsen. Three course participants appear as soloists. The festival program is supplemented by regular school concerts and concerts for seniors.

Since the beginning of 2015, the organization of the master class has taken over the contact point Musik - Stadtmusikrat Goslar under the direction of its chairman, Ms Angelika Klaas-von Birckhahn. Lord Mayor Dr. Oliver Junk and the City of Goslar continue to support the festival intensively through the acquisition of sponsors and the provision of workspaces.

Great support is also provided by numerous sponsors. Here are especially the SCHIMMEL selection center Braunschweig and the Wilhelm LIST successor GmbH to call. Ever since the founding of the International Goslar Piano Festival, the district of Goslar has provided the county house for free. Media partner is the Goslarsche Zeitung.

The International Goslar Piano Festival is held every year in mid / end of September.
