Course Information
General information about the masterclass
The opening meeting of the masterclass takes place on Thursday, September 11.2025 at 3 p.m. in location XXX, Goslar. The masterclass will start directly after the meeting and will continue every day through Sunday, September 21. Every participant or ensemble respectively receives four lessons of 60 minutes each.
Participants
Pianists and piano students are invited to be active participants as well as very advanced young players still in highschool. Passive participants are also welcome.
Keyboard Chamber Music
In addition to solo literature, keyboard chamber music can also be studied during the masterclass. Chamber music groups who have already played together are invited to work on this repertoire.
Piano concertos
Especially advanced students will have the opportunity to perform as a soloist with the TfN Philharmonic Orchestra. In preparation for the concert there will be two rehearsals. Interested candidates are requested to prepare one of the following concertos:
- J. S. Bach: Piano Concerto d-minor BWV 1052
- C. Saint-Saens: Piano Concerto No. 2 g-minor op. 22
- F. Chopin: Piano Concerto No. 2 f-minor op. 21
If more than one candidate wants to perform the same work, there will be an internal competition to decide who will play.
Concerts with the participants
In connection with the masterclass there will be two final concerts with the participants. The program of the first final concert will include solo pieces, if necessary also chamber music pieces. Because the length of this final concert is limited, we recommend that all participants prepare also short pieces. In the second final concert the three piano concertos mentioned above will be performed. Please remember to bring appropriate clothes for your performance.
Teaching languages
In general the teaching language is German. However if you wish to communicate in English, French, Italian or Japanese, that is also possible.
